John Gale has served as Nebraska secretary of state since December 2000 and has won election to the office three times. His tenure has focused on quality public service, professionalism and integrity.
While secretary, John has significantly improved the state’s election system, vastly increased the state’s online programs and streamlined the state’s business services. His office has provided quality service to the public through his motto of “Prompt, Personal and Professional Service.”
A fifth-generation Nebraskan, John practiced law in North Platte for 29 years before serving as secretary of state. His background also includes service as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Roman Hruska in Washington, D.C., and as an assistant U.S. attorney in Omaha and Lincoln.
