The Secretary of State’s Office helped honor a group of Mexican teachers visiting Nebraska during a June 18 ceremony sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Education in the State Capitol rotunda. The teachers were in Nebraska as part of the teacher exchange of the Binational Migrant Education Program. The goal of the program is to improve the education of migrant children who travel between the United States and Mexico. Pictured is Judy Jobman, chief deputy secretary of state, who represented the office at the ceremony.
The Mexican teachers who were honored at the ceremony were (from left) Alfonso Manuel Ochoa Rivera, Maria De Montserrat De Anda, Rita Alicia Cano Besave, Delia Moreya Perez Montiel, Maria De Guadalupe Santana Saucedo, Cristina Gutiérrez Arroyo and Georgina Patricia Castell Mónica Ramírez.
