Group from Pakistan made honorary citizens & learn about life in Nebraska


Neal  Erickson, Deputy Secretary of State – Elections, welcomes visitors to the State  Capitol from Pakistan. The group, made up of educators, researchers,  journalists, and professors were invited to the United States as part of the  U.S. Department of State’s international Visitor Leadership Program.

Visitors  spend several weeks in this country and as part of their tour, get to spend  time in various host cities, like Lincoln. Members of this group from Pakistan  were awarded certificates making them honorary citizens of Nebraska. As part of  his presentation, Mr. Erickson explained the duties involved with the Secretary  of State’s office and answered questions about what it’s like to live in  Nebraska.
