Sec. Gale speaks at Malaysia Night 2013 at UNL campus

Secretary of State John Gale and his wife Carol were guests of the UNL Malaysian Student Association Saturday night at the UNL Student Union to celebrate "Malaysian Night 2013".  Secretary Gale was invited to share a welcome on behalf of the citizens of Nebraska.

The event was sold out with about 700 guests who came to enjoy the unique combination of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures through music and dance.

 Other special guests included Nekmat Ismail, consul general of Malaysia and his wife; and Roslan Jamaludin, director of education Malaysia and his wife.

Malaysian students have been attending UNL since 1990, and there are some 9,000 Malaysian students in the United States this school year.
