Sec. Gale presents Admiralships to German Guests

May 1, 2013

On behalf of Governor Heineman, Secretary Gale today honored two special guests from Germany with appointments as "Admiral in The Great Navy of the State of Nebraska".

The guests, Heir Dieter Steinsiek, retired commander of the German Army Armor Training Center, and Heir Arno Wahl, a businessman also retired from the German Army Reserve, were visiting Nebraska as guests of Colonel Tom Brewer RET.

Both guests hosted Nebraska National Guard markmanship teams in 1997 attending a military marksmanship event in Germany.  They also provided support and hospitality for years thereafter, including letters and care packages to Nebraska soldiers deployed in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
