Teachers from Brazil visit with Sec. Gale, made honorary citizens

Thirty-two teachers from Brazil visited the Secretary of State's office on Thursday, January 31. They are taking part in a six-week professional development course at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The program will help the teachers improve their English skills and teaching methods as well as immerse them in U.S. language and culture.

The stopover at the Secretary of State's office was during a three-day trip to Beatrice where the teachers were learning about secondary education in smaller communities.

Sec. Gale presented the teachers with certificates making them honorary citizens of Nebraska.
