A.S. Johnson inducted into Nebraska Hall of Fame

May 30, 2014

The Secretary of State’s office helped coordinate the induction ceremony of Alvin Saunders Johnson held on May 30 at the State Capitol. Johnson was a noted Nebraskan, who gained national and international recognition as an economist, educator, humanitarian, social activist, writer and editor. Among his most notable accomplishments was the founding of the New School for Social Research in New York and launching the University in Exile which served as a haven for refugee educators fleeing Nazi persecution.
