A U.S. Citizenship Attestation Form is required for a new or renewal notary public commission in Nebraska (Neb. Rev. Stat. Secs. 4-108 to 4-114).
Nebraska law requires that every Nebraska state agency verify the lawful presence of individuals receiving "public benefits" from a state agency. Included in the definition of "public benefits" is a professional license (i.e. notary public). All individual applicants seeking licensing will be required to complete and submit a U.S. Citizenship Attestation Form to the Notary Division.
