STATE AGENCY INTERNET GUIDELINES

NEBRASKA STATE RECORDS BOARD

These guidelines were developed by the State Records Board and approved by the board at their March 23rd meeting. The following are proposed standards for the Information Resources Cabinet to considerfor state agency internet homepages. They are designed to ensure that such pages are clearly identified as Nebraska State Government Pages and to ensure that the average citizen, not overly familiar with state government, can easily find the services or information that they need.

1. The main page or homepage of each state government agency should contain the words "Nebraska" or "State Of Nebraska" at or near the agency name.

2. The main page or homepage of each state agency should have a link to the official Nebraska State Government Homepage.

3. Any Nebraska state agency website with outside links must have on its homepage a link entitled "Outside Links" which will take you to the following disclaimer language:

Technical problems with outside links, other than a link that has been moved or changed, should be reported to the entity that maintains the site, not the (name of agency).
